Who we are

This website is run by Woodtek Engineering Ltd, Caebardd Farm, Guilsfield, Welshpool, Powys SY21 9DJ. The Biochar Farming pages are run jointly with Carbon Hill Ltd, which farms at the same address. Together we are the data controllers for the information collected on this site. For anything to do with your personal data, email [email protected].

What we collect

When you fill in the project enquiry form we collect what you type in: your name, organisation, email address, the country and location of your site, and the details of your project (feedstock, heat use, project stage, funding, timeline, your role and anything else you tell us).

When you book an open day or event we collect your name, email address and any dietary or access needs you give us, through Eventbrite.

We do not collect anything else about you. This website does not use analytics or advertising cookies and does not track you across other sites.

Why we use it, and the legal basis

We use enquiry details to reply to you, to assess whether a C1000 plant would work on your site, and to progress the conversation with you. We use event bookings to run the event, cater for numbers and contact you about the day. The legal basis for both is that you have asked us to (steps taken at your request before entering into a contract) and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our equipment and events.

If you have enquired about a plant or attended one of our events, we may also email you about future open days and events that are similar. We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping in touch with people who have shown an interest in Woodtek, and every such email includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time and we will stop.

Who else handles it

Enquiry forms are processed by Netlify, which hosts this website, and delivered by email to the Woodtek project development team. Event bookings are processed by Eventbrite under its own privacy policy, which you will see when you register. Both act on our instructions as data processors.

Where a project is outside the UK we may share your enquiry with a delivery partner needed to answer it, for example our North American partner for projects in Canada or the United States. We will tell you when we do this. We do not sell your details or share them with anyone else.

Netlify and Eventbrite store data in the United States and the European Union under UK-approved safeguards (the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses).

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and event details for as long as the conversation about your project is live, and for up to three years after our last contact with you, so that we can pick it up again if you come back to us. After that we delete them. You can ask us to delete your details sooner at any time.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to have it transferred to you or another organisation in a usable format. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within one month.

If you are not happy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we use your data, for example by adding analytics to this website, we will update this notice and the date at the top.
